Spring festivals to celebrate the season

Festivals are a great way to get into your local community and enjoy it with other local people who share similar interests. The greater Camden area offers a diverse and interesting range of spring festivals to suit an assortment of interests and budgets.

Camden Garden Festival
Friday 21 – Sunday 23 September
A three-day festival across various locations, the inaugural Camden Garden Festival brings an exciting mix of all things garden-related to the people of Camden. With a variety of specialists from horticulturalists to winemakers at the helm, the volume of knowledge is exceptional. The rich history of the area also takes centre stage through a number of open days and tours of local historical homesteads.

Cinema Under the Stars
Saturday 8 September
A free event for families held at the beautiful Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan. This year’s film is Despicable Me 3, which is set to be a hit with kids and parents alike. There will be food and drink available to purchase, as well as a range of activities and minions characters buzzing around.

Picnic in the Park
Sunday 16 September
Held at the iconic Macarthur Park, Picnic in the Park is a relaxing day out punctuated by live acoustic music, food stalls and springtime warmth. With a jumping castle, garden games, face painting and a station to make their own flower crowns or custom flower pots, kids are also set to have a ball.

Kids Fun Day
Wednesday 19 September
Kirkham Park in Elderslie is transformed into a kids’ wonderland with a range of activities just for little ones, from jumping castles, face painting, hair spraying, a chance to hop into the cabin of a council waste truck and a visit from Batman in his Batmobile. The Paw Patrol team will even make an appearance and entertain the crowd. Amidst all the excitement, kids also enjoy a free lunch.

TASTE Food, Wine and Music Festival
Sunday 23 September
A range of delicious food to sample, a series of cooking demonstrations and meet and greets with chef Miguel Maestro and dessert queen Katherine Sabbath, a walk down Produce Lane to stock up on gourmet and fresh food – there can be no greater joy. All at the beautiful Camden Town Farm.
