Fun ways to enjoy daylight savings in Catherine Park Estate

DSC00654

As we shake off the winter chill and rummage through our closets for those long-forgotten clothes for the warmer months, something really special has arrived. And no, we don’t mean Christmas. We’re talking about daylight savings!

The early October transition into the daylight savings period is one of the most joyous times of the year, when we can come home after work and school and enjoy outdoor activities for longer before the sun goes down and the moon comes up.

Catherine Park Estate’s considered design capitalises on the available natural features of the surrounding area to give residents wide open outdoor spaces to enjoy. So, with daylight savings here, now is the time to start thinking about how to best use it. Here are our suggestions for getting the most out of daylight savings in Catherine Park Estate.

Get out and play

Catherine Parks Estate’s newly named sports field, Catherine Park Oval, has been created to provide residents with access to high quality sports facilities and amenities.

Designed to cater for as many tastes and interests as possible, Catherine Park Oval is a multi-faceted sports ground offering cricket ovals and soccer fields, as well as cricket nets with synthetic grass pitches for those who love to kick and hit a ball around.

Fit in some fitness

If working out in the early evening is your form of meditation but the dark of winter has kept you indoors, then the extra daylight time will be your best friend. Catherine Park Oval’s outdoor gym equipment will help you crunch those abs back into shape or give you the upper body strength you have always desired.

The recently installed equipment has been designed so you can work out by yourself, or with a friend. So, with that extra hour of evening sunlight back in your life, head down Catherine Park Oval and get some exercise back into your life.

You and your best friend

You know that walk that you keep telling you four-legged friend that you’re going to take them on? Well, guess what? Now you have the time to keep that promise. Paw Park, located near Catherine Park Drive, is a state-of-the-art off-leash dog park carefully designed to cater to all dog breeds and sizes. Paw Park offers two separate sections for dogs and their persons – one for larger dogs, and one for smaller dogs – both built with features that they can use to run, jump, and explore until their heart is content and their legs are weary.

On top of all these amazing features, Catherine Park Estate also offers kilometres upon kilometres of pathways and cycleways, as well as well-appointed parks, that residents can take advantage of in the evening for longer during the daylight savings period. So, pack a picnic basket and head for one of the many parks in Catherine Park Estate. Or fire up the barbeque and enjoy an evening of twilight socialising over an outdoor meal.
